UFC Fight Night 74 Date: August 23, 2015 Arena: SaskTel Centre City: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heads to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada for the first time in promotional history for UFC Fight Night 74: Holloway vs Oliveira. The Canadian evening is action-packed with 12 scheduled bouts, including a six-fight main card that will be live on FOX Sports 1 at 9pm ET and a preliminary card to precede at 7pm on the same channel, with a pair of bouts coming prior to those on UFC Fight Pass at 6pm ET. If interested in wagering on this parlay, or any bouts on this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here’s my preliminary card parlay for UFC Fight Night 74: Light Heavyweight bout: Marcos Rogerdio de Lima (-140) vs Nikita Krylov (+120) Gabe’s Thoughts: I believe de Lima is the superior mixed martial artist heading into this 205-pound contest. He also holds advantages in submissions and punching power. I think the three most likely outcomes to this contest are de Lima winning by submission, by T/KO and by decision; I think all three of those outcomes are greater than the chances of Krylov winning in any fashion. So at his current betting price of -140, I see a world of value in the Brazilian and will no doubt be parlaying him here with another fighter who I think has a great chance of getting his hand raised. Outside of landing a lucky shot, I don’t see Krylov winning this fight and think de Lima should be a -350 betting favorite in this spot. Gabe’s Call: de Lima by Technical Submission (rear naked choke, 3:28 round 1) Lightweight bout: Elias Silverio (-250) vs Shane Campbell (+210) Gabe’s Thoughts: Silverio and Campbell are both talented strikers but Silverio has better striking defense, not to mention he is the superior grappler of the pair. If this fight plays out on the feet, which I expect it to, I think Silverio will ultimately connect with his strikes and follow up with the finishing touches to put Campbell away, similar to his promotional debut against John Makdessi, where he was knocked out in the very first round of action. He is a striker who is fun to watch but I think his lack of head movement and striking defense is going to cost him again inside the Octagon. Gabe’s Call: Silverio by T/KO (strikes, 3:07 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Parlays: de Lima (-140) and Silverio (-250) at +140 for 3.75u to win 5.25u
