UFC Welterweight Zak Cummings: ‘I would have loved to face Cathal Pendred’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with recently victorious UFC on FOX 16 welterweight Zak Cummings, who knocked out Dominique Steele in the first round last weekend at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The talented veteran of The Ultimate Fighter has some momentum right now and he’d love nothing more than an opportunity to compete on the upcoming UFC Dublin card later this year:

“I loved fighting in Ireland. I had an amazing time in Ireland. The fans are phenomenal so I would love to go back and fight there. I was thinking if Cathal won his last fight, I would have loved to have a fight with Cathal Pendred. He’s done very well in the UFC. I think he’s 4-1 right now. Even though he’s coming off a loss, he’s done well in the UFC and I can see that. It would be a really great fight. It’s really just me being selfish and wanting to get back to Ireland so basically anybody on the Europe side of things would be great because I had such an amazing time there. I felt like they built me up really well with the Irish fans getting ready for the Gunnar fight so I have a huge following over there already. It’s crazy the support I’ve had since that fight. I would love to go back over there and any opponent that would help me do that, I would like.”
