If interested in wagering on any plays for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. My Over/Under Totals for WSOF 22 are: Welterweight title bout: Jake Shields (-230) vs Rousimar Palhares (+170) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this fight will hit the mat, as Shields’ and Palhares’ fights generally do, and I think it will be Shields to gets the better of the action on the mat. I think Shields will stay out of submission trouble and ultimately secure a submission finish of his own, likely a rear naked choke. I would not be at all surprised to see Palhares pull off another early submission, as I think it has a good chance of happening, I just favor Shields’ odds of getting the job done even more. That said, I don’t think there is really any value in Shields at his current asking price of -230, but I do like the total of Under 1.5 rounds for a play at +180, as I see some value there. Regardless of who gets his hand raised in this contest, I think there is a good chance he gets the win within a round and a half of action in this title fight scheduled for five. Gabe’s Call: Shields by Submission (rear naked choke, 3:34 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Under 1.5 rounds (+180) 1.75 to win 3.15u Light Heavyweight bout: Clifford Starks (-130) vs Mike Kyle (-110) Gabe’s Thoughts: In short, I think there is a good chance someone goes to sleep early in this fight, and with total of Under 1.5 rounds being at +125, I think it is worth a play. More or less, I agree with the begging odds in thinking this is a coin-flip fight, so there’s no value for a straight play on other side. However, I think there is some value on the Under at plus money and will be making a small move on it. Gabe’s Call: Kyle by T/KO (punches, 0:42 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Under 1.5 rounds (+125) 1u to win 1.25u
