UFC Fight Night 73’s Chris Camozzi: ‘Changing camps all the time shows weakness’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 73 middleweight Chris Camozzi as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout this Saturday night (August 8, 2015) against Tom Watson at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Ultimate Fighter season 11 veteran has been training out of Colorado for most of his career while his opponent Tom Watson has bounced around multiple camps over the last few years and he had some interesting things to say about Watson’s situation:

“I wouldn’t switch camps before a fight. You have to train these guys to know you. You might have cornermen who are your buddies at the Blackzilians but they don’t know Tom [Watson] yet. I think that just throws thing off. It throws a wrench in your training. It’s good to switch things up and go to other gyms to get a new look, but not during training camps because it can really mess stuff up. It can throw off everything. I’ve been with the same camp almost my whole career. I think Conor McGregor said it. These guys that jump camp, it’s showing weakness. If you’re losing and you bounce camps every time you lose, maybe it’s you and not the camp.”
