Titan FC 34 took place last night (July 18, 2015) at the Scottish Rite Temple in Kansas City, Missouri, and overall the card was interesting featuring a variety of quick stoppages, some battles of attrition and multiple title fights that went the distance. Overall from a betting perspective, five favorites and three underdogs won based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Here’s a quick recap for each fight. Titan FC 34 Favorites That Won In the main event of the evening, Pat Healy took the best shot from a short notice Marcus Edwards, weathered the storm and fired back furiously to score the only finish in the night’s four title bouts. Edwards did work early but faded and was eventually finished with hammerfists from the crucifix position in the second round as Healy retained the Titan FC lightweight championship. Healy picked up a TKO as a -350 (Bet $350 to win $100) favorite while Edwards lran out of steam at +260 (Bet $100 to win $260). In bantamweight title bout, Brett Johns duked it out with Anthony Gutierrez for five rounds. Johns, despite fighting on an injured knee, was able to control the majority of the action and while the fight wasn’t the most action-packed, he did enough to walk away with a split decision. Johns closed at -260 and Gutierrez was +200. In a flyweight title fight, Tim Elliott outworked Iliarde Santos handily over the course of five rounds to take a pretty dominant unanimous decision victory. Even when Santos was in top position, he wasn’t able to get anything going. Elliott held serve as a -355 betting favorite while Santos was a +265 underdog. In the featherweight division, recent title challenger Desmond Green got back on track in a big way, steamrolling Vincent Eazelle in just over 30 seconds with a clean knockout. Green was a -565 betting favorite while Eazelle was +375. In the first bout with betting odds, lightweights Dakota Cochrane and Mike Bruno duked it out for 2+ rounds although the veteran Cochrane had the last laugh, scoring a nasty third round knockout less than a minute into the final frame. Cochrane closed as a -260 betting favorite while Bruno was a +180 dog. Titan FC 34 Underdogs that Won In a featherweight title bout, Kurt Holobough was dethroned by a very aggressive Andre Harrison. Harrison took the fight to Holobough from the start, landing short combinations and finishing them off with takedowns. Holobaugh seemingly had no answer and could not score a late finish as Harrison did more than enough to earn a unanimous not from the judges. Harrison closed as a +110 underdog while Holobaugh was -140. In a featherweight battle, Cody Bollinger started strong against Freddy Assuncao in a solid first round, but then was a completely different fighter in the second, as he was dominated and eventually finished with an arm triangle choke. Assuncao was a +130 dog while Bollinger closed as a -170 betting favorite. In a lightweight contest, Isaac Vallie-Flagg shot himself in the foot against a game Jason Witt. The fight was close, but Vallie-Flagg kneed Witt in the head while he was grounded in the third round and when Witt could not continue, Witt was awarded the fight via disqualification. Witt picked up the shocking DQ win as a +160 underdog while Vallie-Flagg was -210.
