MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas today officially opened up the MMA odds for Thursday’s Bellator 89 event through Several Bookmakers. Here are the opening odds for Bellator 89. ————- Marcos Galvao +165 Eduardo Dantas -215 (For Bellator World Bantamweight Championship) ————- Dan Cramer +220 Brian Rogers -300 ————- Norman Paraisy +185 Brett Cooper -265 ————- Doug Marshall +200 Andreas Spang -280 ————- Sultan Aliev +115 Mikkel Parlo -155 ————- Adam’s Analysis: A fun little card this Thursday night, and one that we can definitely make some money from. The first fight that really stands out for me is Eduardo Dantas vs. Marcos Galvao, which is a five-round fight for Dantas’ bantamweight title. Dantas, who opened at -215, is coming off a brutal KO loss to Tyson Nam at a Brazilian regional show and no one knows where his head is at right now. He’s been off since last summer with lingering concussion issues, so he has major question marks surrounding him. Sure, Dantas is talented, but at +165, I think it may be worth making a play on Galvao — one of the most underrated 135ers on the planet — to come through with the mini upset. The next fight I’m interested in is Sultan Aliev vs. Mikkel Parlo, which is a middleweight quarterfinal bout. Both of these guys are extremely talented, undefeated prospects and this fight should be exciting to watch. Parlo should definitely be favored, but this is a fight that you should do some tape study on because there may be some value in the dog Aliev if you look closely.
