Two-Way Parlay for UFC 189

rory-macdonaldUFC 189 Date: July 11, 2015 Arena: MGM Grand Garden Arena City: Las Vegas, NV The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is headed back to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV on Saturday, July 11th for UFC 189. The stacked card will feature 11 bouts in its entirety, including two title fights. Main card action is set to get underway at 10pm ET on Pay Per View, with a four fight preliminary card preceding it at 8pm ET on FOX Sports 1 and a pair of scraps beforehand on UFC Fight Pass at 7pm ET. If interested in wagering on this parlay, or any bouts on this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here’s my two-way parlay for UFC 189: Welterweight title bout: Robbie Lawler (+165) vs Rory MacDonald (-190) Gabe’s Thoughts: I thought MacDonald would be victorious in their first meet-up but he did not look like himself in that bout and lost a unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards following three rounds of action. He admitted that he did not mentally show up for that fight and did not feel like himself inside of the cage. This Saturday, I believe, will tell a different story. I see MacDonald showing up hungrier than ever and putting on a career-defining performance against Lawler, ultimately capturing his dream of being the UFC’s Welterweight Champion. Gabe’s Call: MacDonald by T/KO (punches, 4:31 round 1) Welterweight bout: Brandon Thatch (-180) vs Gunnar Nelson (+158) Gabe’s Thoughts: Thatch and Nelson are both coming off their first UFC defeats and are equally eager to return to the win column. I am a fan of both fighters, but I like Thatch in this contest because of his advantages in size and on the feet. I see him outmuscling and outstriking Nelson, either earning a T/KO stoppage or a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards, which would mark the first of his professional mixed martial arts career, as all of his previous victories have come by way of T/KO or submission. I think as long as Thatch avoids being taken down, this is his fight to lose. I think he will find success keeping the bout standing and making it his fight. I think Thatch has a bright future at 170-pounds, but as for Nelson, I think he will have a better run if he opts to drop down to the lightweight division. Gabe’s Call: Thatch by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: MacDonald (-190) and Thatch (-185) at +135 for 3.7u to win 5u
