This is a sample of some of the UFC 188 prop bets that cashed big for bettors. To bet on props like these in the future, go to the ‘Props’ section under ‘Fighting’ at Several Bookmakers. Fabricio Werdum wins by submission (+700)/Werdum wins in round 3 (+1800) In one of the biggest upsets in UFC heavyweight history, Fabricio Werdum shocked the world with an incredible third-round submission win over Cain Velasquez. Werdum was a massive underdog heading into this fight but he looked amazing in it and proved he’s the best heavyweight on the planet with another legendary finish on his resume. By tapping out the champ in Cain, the Werdum by submission prop cashed at +700 and the prop on Werdum winning in round 3 hit at +1800. Kelvin Gastelum wins in round 2 (+500) Most figured Kelvin Gastelum would defeat Nate Marquardt, but just how was the question. Via knockout was definitely on the table, but just when in the fight was the question. Well after beating Marquardt up badly, the corner stopped the fight in between the second and third rounds and therefore the prop on Gastelum winning in round 2 cashed nicely at +500. Efrain Escudero wins by submission (+550)/Escudero wins in round 1 (+675) For some reason Efrain Escudero was an underdog to Drew Dober, but he showed in just 54 seconds that he was the far superior fighter by finishing Dober with a guillotine choke. Escudero looked fantastic in the fight and in the last year or so has really been impressive. I’m not completely sold on him yet, but for one night anyways he was fantastic. The prop on Escudero wins by submission at +550 and Escudero wins in round 1 at +675. Patrick Williams wins by submission (+740)/Williams wins in round 1 (+675) In one of the most surprising upsets on the card, Patrick Williams submitted Alejandro Perez in 23 seconds. Williams hit Perez with a beautiful uppercut that rocked him, and then grabbed his neck standing to finish him with a brutal guillotine choke. With the impressive victory, the props on Williams wins by submission at +740 and Williams wins in round 1 at +675 both cashed nicely. Gabriel Benitez wins by decision (+425) In a featherweight fight that kicked off the card, Gabriel Benitez outwrestled and outstruck Clay Collard to win a clear-cut, 30-27 unanimous decision. Benitez was very under appreciated coming into this fight despite a strong showing on TUF LA, which says more about the respect for Collard by bettors heading into the bout. But after this fight, it’s Benitez who will get the respect of bettors, because he dominated this fight and it wasn’t even close. The prop on Benitez winning a decision in Mexico scored at +425.
