It is a big weekend for boxing, with the Andre Dirrell vs James DeGale World title fight at the Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts airing on NBC this Saturday as the main event of the ¨Premier Boxing Champions¨ broadcast. That card has undergone some change, as the originally announced co-main event of Bryan Vasquez vs Javier Fortuna for the vacant WBA World Super Featherweight title was moved to the “PBS” broadcast a week later . A line has appeared for the new co-main event which should air on NBC. The bout is a Light Heavyweight 10 round bout featuring undefeated (16-0) Craig Baker taking on tough Edwin Rodriguez (26-1), and Rodriguez is coming in as the favorite at (-1300), with the comeback on Baker at (+700). The other big card this weekend goes down at the Luzhniki Sports Complex in Moscow, Russia on Friday. That card sees former WBA World Heavyweight Champion Alexander Povetkin facing Cuba’s Mike Perez and the card also features WBC World Cruiserweight Champion Grigory Drozd taking on Lukasz Janik in his first title defense. New lines have been posted for the Heavyweight 10 round fight between Australia’s Alex Leapai (30-6-3) and Germany’s Manuel Charr (27-3). Both men are (1-2) in their last three fights and are in need of a win to stay relevant on the world title scene. Leapai is coming off back to back losses to Malik Scott and Wladimir Klitschko, and he is the underdog at (+160), with the comeback on Charr at (-210). With Grozd and also Rakhim Chakhkiev on the card, the card is heavy on Cruiserweights, and the third Cruiserweight bout between Dmitry Kudryashov (-6000) and Vikapita Meroro (+2000) has also been added at the books. Also on Friday, the book has added the Lightweight bout between undefeated Richard Commey and Bahodir Mamdjonov. The bout is for the vacant IBF Inter-Continental Lightweight title and is scheduled to air on the CBS Sports Network. The match has a real tight line, in contrast to a lot of the other lines being offered for this weekend, as Commey is paying back at (-105) and Mamadjonov is returning (-125). Commey is from Ghana and he is making his debut on American soil, while Mamadjonov is from Uzbekistan but he has spent his entire professional career competing in the United States, The last of the new lines that appeared at 5DIMES in the last 24 hours comes to us from Mexico on Saturday night, where Bantamweights David Sanchez (27-2-2) and Walberto Ramos (23-6-2). Sanchez is a big (-5100) favorite over ramos, who is returning at (+1700). The card in Mexico is also noteworthy because of the WBC World Female Bantamweight title fight between Yazmin Rivas (32-8) and Simone Da Silva Duarte (14-8). Rivas is making a defense of the Bantamweight belt, but this is a crush match all the way, as Duarte has lost four fights in a row.
