MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas today officially opened up the MMA odds for Thursday’s Bellator 87 event through Several Bookmakers. Here are the opening odds for the four lightweight quarterfinal matches: GUILLAUME DELORENZI +190 PATRICKY FREIRE -250 DEL/FRE -OVER 1.5 +110 DEL/FRE -UNDER 1.5 -150 ————————- LLOYD WOODARD -115 DAVID RICKELS -115 WOO/RIC -OVER 2.5 +100 WOO/RIC -UNDER 2.5 -140 ————————- THIAGO MICHEL +210 ALEXANDER SARNAVSKIY -270 MIC/SAR -OVER 2.5 +100 MIC/SAR -UNDER 2.5 -140 ————————- RICARDO TIRLONI +125 WILL BROOKS -155 TIR/BRO -OVER 2.5 -120 TIR/BRO -UNDER 2.5 -120 ————————- Adam’s initial thoughts: This is a tricky card to bet on because all of the fights should be ultra competitive, regardless of the betting lines. In the main event I do believe that Patricky “Pitbull” Freire, who opened a -250 favorite (bet $250 to win $100), should be favored, however do not sleep on the Canadian underdog Guillaume DeLorenzi, who opened as a +190 underdog (bet $100 to win $190). In the co-main event, David Rickels and Lloyd Woodard each opened as -115 favorites, which means the public is going to get to choose which way the line moves. Next up, Russian prospect Alexander Sarnavskiy opened as a big -270 favorite over Thiago Michel, who is a sizeable +210 underdog. And in the first fight of the quarterfinals, Will Brooks, who is fresh off a huge win at the DREAM New Year’s Eve event, enters as a slight -155 favorite over Ricardo Tirloni, who is a +125 underdog. Tirloni nearly won the season seven lightweight tourney, but was edged out by Dave Jansen on the scorecards, so while he is the dog in this matchup don’t think this is going to be a walk in the park for Brooks, as Tirloni is arguably the toughest test of his young career to date.
