According to Jones, he does intend to move to the UFC heavyweight division sometime in late 2013 or 2014. The champ says he’s been thinking about the move for a while but, with so many challengers at 205 waiting in the wings for him, it would be surprising if if happened this year. Still, the 6-4 Jones is growing into his frame more and more every day so do not be surprised if he’s fighting the big boys at 265 next year, and it will be interesting to see how he does against them. First, though, he defends his title against Chael Sonnen at UFC 159 this April. Sadollah vs. “Wonderboy” booked for Memorial Day weekend event UFC welterweights Amir Sadollah and Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson have agreed to fight each other this May at the UFC’s annual Memorial Day weekend event, according to Dave Doyle of MMAFighting.com. The UFC hasn’t officially announced this event yet, but it’s expected to take place in Las Vegas as usual. Both Thompson and Sadollah are coming off losses to Matt Brown and Dan Hardy, respectively, and need to get a win here in order to prove they belong in the UFC. Both men are excellent technical strikers so we can expect a standup fight here, and it might just come down to who lands first.
