This weekend’s boxing action is dominated by the Gennady Golovkin versus Willie Monroe Jr coming to us from the Inglewood Forum on Saturday and set to air on HBO in the United States, but the sport book at 5DIMES has put up a handful of new boxing lines for action scheduled for Friday and Saturday night. The Golovkin-Monroe Jr bout has long had a line with Golovkin as a massive favorite, and the Flyweight World title fight between Roman Gonzalez and Edgar Sosa also has a huge line in favor of the champion, Gonzalez. A third line from this card has been added, as undefeated bantamweight Ivan Morales (27-0) takes on Danny Flores (14-6-1) in an eight round bout. Though the card is a showcase for two of the world’s best pound for pound fighters, it does not appear ias if competitive matches were planned, as Morales is a big (-5100) favorite over Flores, who returns at (+1700). Right now, Morales has the widest margin of victory on the show per the line at the books, which is saying something. ESPN2 will air their “Friday Night Fights” event from Hartford, Connecticut this Friday night. Right now, the scheduled Super Bantamweight eight rounder between undefeated fighters Jonathan Perez (9-0) and Luis Rosa (19-0) has seen a line pop up that has Perez a big underdog at (+1400), with Rosa kicking back (-3600). The main event of the show will feature undefeated lightweight Reynaldo Ojeda (16-0) taking on the experienced Monty Meza Clay (36-4). The book has not posted a line for this one yet, but the match-up may pop up sometime today. Over on TruTV in the United States, they will be broadcasting live action live from Phoenix, Arizona on Friday featuring a Super Lightweight 12 rounder for an interim WBA World title sees veteran second generation fighter Jorge Paez Jr as a (+650) favorite to undefeated Jose Benavidez, who is favored, paying back (-1350). Also ecpected to air from this show is the Super Lightweight fight between undefeated prospect Antonio Orozco (21-0) and Emmanuel Taylor (18-3) that could get a line later this afternoon. The other lines that came up at 5DIMES in the last twenty four hours focus on international action slated for Saturday. In South Africa, a Cruiserweight 12 round match between once defeated fighters Thabiso Mchunu (16-1) and Ilunga Makabu (18-1). The match has a tight line, with Makabu a slight (+125) underdog to Mchunu, wh ois returning (-155). The over/under has been set at 8½, with the over paying (-210) and the under paying (+160). In , San Luis Potosí, Mexico, Adrian Estrella takes on Eden Sonsona for the vacant WBC International Super Featherweight title.
