Dustin Poirier Five crazy prop bets is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here’s five crazy UFC Fight Night 63 prop bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Chad Mendes wins in round 1 (+475) The main event of the evening saw Chad Mendes knocked out Ricardo Lamas in impressive fashion in the very first round. Mendes’ striking continues to get better and he proved he is one of the most dangerous standup fighters in the division by taking out a top-five fighter in Lamas early. The prop on Mendes to win in the first round hit at +475. Juliana Pena wins by T/KO (+462) A women’s bantamweight bout saw Julianna Pena return from a major knee injury against Milana Dudieva, and she looked awesome. Pena’s wrestling was extremely effective as she took Dudieva down and held her there before securing a dominant position and finishing via strikes from mount. The prop on Pena, who has finished all of her wins, to win by T/KO hit at +462. Dustin Poirier wins by T/KO (+325)/Poirier wins in round 1 (+400) A lightweight matchup saw Dustin Poirier take on Carlos Diego Ferreira in his UFC debut at 155lbs, and he looked great. Poirier’s boxing looked smooth and his chin held up well as he was able to outstrike Ferreira on the feet and eventually earn the stoppage after Ferreria couldn’t take it anymore. The props on Poirier by T/KO at +325 and Poirier wins in round 1 at +400 both scored. Timothy Johnson wins via T/KO (+475)/Johnson wins in round 1 (+575) In a heavyweight bout, Timothy Johnson showed he has more to offer the UFC fanbase than just a great mustache as he beat up Shamil Abdurakhimov on the ground for a first-round TKO victory. Johnson’s wrestling was very effective in this fight and he looked strong on the ground. The props on Johnson by T/KO and Johnson in round 1 hit at +475 and +575, respectively. Ron Stallings wins by decision (+350) The first fight of the night saw Ron Stallings take home the win over Justin Jones by unanimous decision. Stallings had never won a decision in his career up until this fight, so it was surprising that he was able to get the nod on the judges’ cards, but that’s exactly what happened. Because of his history of finishing inside the distance, the prop on Stallings by decision was undervalued at +350.
