In one line, I will be providing my own personal description for every fight ahead of us at tomorrow’s UFC 183. I will also be following the Twitter rule of thumb of keeping them in 140 characters or less. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to the Patriot Center in Fairfax, VA tomorrow night for the third time in promotion history with UFC Fight Night 63, which will be headlined by a five round main event contest between top featherweights Chad “Money” Mendes and Ricardo “The Bully” Lamas. The main card action will kick off with six scheduled bouts at 1pm ET on FOX Sports 1, with a four-fight preliminary card preceding it on the same channel at 11am ET. If interested in wagering on this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. And without further ado, here are my one-liners for UFC Fight Night 63 in Virginia… MAIN CARD (FOX SPORTS 1) Chad Mendes vs Ricardo Lamas Two former title challengers compete in hopes of earning another crack at the UFC’s 145-pound gold. Al Iaquinta vs Jorge Masvidal #15 ranked Iaquinta looks to climb up the lightweight ladder by stepping over #14 ranked Masvidal, who feels his foe is out of his league. Michael Chiesa vs Mitch Clarke Clarke looks for another big upset over another TUF vet, and Chiesa aims to make a statement with a dominant victory. Julianna Pena vs Milana Dudieva Pena returns from her extended injury layoff in this fun scrap between two talented women’s 135-pounders who’re each 1-0 inside the Octagon. Clay Guida vs Robert Peralta Guida and Peralta changed things up in their preparation for this bout, and tomorrow night we will see who the changes benefited more. Carlos Diego Ferreira vs Dustin Poirier A barn-burner between a pair of lightweights who are eager to return to the win column, and they look to do so in impressive fashion. PRELIMINARY CARD (FOX SPORTS 1) Lauren Murphy vs Liz Carmouche Two women’s bantamweights in dire need of a win who are expected to leave it all inside the Octagon in this preliminary card headliner. Alexander Yakovlev vs Gray Maynard A “do-or-die” fight for both 155-pounders, as the loser will be facing contract termination, and one of them (Maynard) potential retirement. Shamil Abdurahimov vs Timothy Johnson A heavyweight contest between a pair of promotional newcomers, which I think is the least-looked-forward-to fight on this card. Justin Jones vs Ron Stallings Jones and Stallings both made their promotional debuts on short notice and suffered a loss, now they get a second chance at a first UFC win.
