Bellator 135 Date: March 27, 2015 Arena: Winstar World Casino City: Thackerville, OK Bellator 135 will be live on Spike TV tonight at 9pm ET with a four fight main card, with a seven fight preliminary card to precede it on Spike.com at 6:30pm ET. If interested in wagering on this card, these and all other lines for this card and other fight cards this weekend will be made available to you at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my plays for the Bellato 135 main card… Bantamweight title bout: Joe Warren (-210) vs Marcos Galvao (+175) Gabe’s Thoughts: Warren is developed into more of a well-rounded mixed martial artist and is in love with his hands, but I think he will turn to his wrestling roots to dominate Galvao and successfully defend his title. I would not be surprised to see Warren get the finish this time around, but more often than not I think he takes home a decision on the judges’ scorecards after five rounds of championship action. Gabe’s Call: Warren by Unanimous Decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Warren (-210) 3.15u to win 1.5u Light Heavyweight bout: Francis Carmont (-335) vs Guilherme Viana (+275) Gabe’s Thoughts: Viana will have a size advantage heading into this contest, not to mention an advantage in striking power. He hits hard, and I could see him putting Carmont away, similar to how Thales Leites did in Carmont’s latest outing in the UFC, the loss which resulted in his release from the promotion. The only way I see Carmont winning this fight is by outpointing Viana on the feet. I don’t think he can grind Viana out against the cage like he does most opponents. One concern I have for Vianna is that this is his fight in a major promotion, and he could be facing some serious jitters, which is the reason I am keeping this play smaller than I would have otherwise. He has been nervous leading up to previous fights (which he has won), so it’s a question mark how he will perform on a nationally broadcasted main card. Needless to say, this is a big opportunity for Viana, and I’ll take him for a small play in the hopes that he capitalizes on it against an opponent in Carmont who is on a decline and fighting out of his weight class (against a larger opponent, no less.) Gabe’s Call: Viana by T/KO (punches, 1:53 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Viana (+275) 1.4u to win 3.85u
