RFA 24 Date: 03/06/15 Arena: Mystic Lake Casino & Hotel City: Prior Lake, MN The Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) returns tonight (Mar. 3, 2015) with RFA 24 in Prior Lake, MN. The six fight card will be live on AXS TV at 7pm ET. If interested in making this parlay, you will be able to do so at Several Bookmakerss. Here’s my two-way parlay for RFA 24: Welterweight title bout: Ben Smith (-175) vs Tat Romero (+135) Gabe’s Thoughts: At the current betting odds, I think Smith is the right side for a wager. I would have made a play on Romero if he opened at +250, but at +135 I think the value is with his opponent. Smith may find himself in some early trouble but I think he will tough it out and get through it. He is, in my opinion, the superior mixed martial artist in this match-up. Romero will have the hometown edge, and an edge in power, but I think Smith is the better fighter. He trains out of a better camp, and although they are both up there in age, I think Smith has the brighter future in the sport. Romero certainly has a lot more wear-and-tear than he does. I could see Smith getting a late finish, but I favor this fight to hit the judges’ scorecards, where Smith takes home a unanimous nod. Gabe’s Call: Smith by Unanimous Decision (49-46, 49-46, 49-46) Bantamweight bout: Melvin Blumer (-115) vs Jeff Curran (-125) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Curran should be a -200 favorite heading into this match-up and see value in him at his current betting price of -125. I believe he is the more skilled and durable fighter in this contest. I think he has a better chance of finishing the fight than Blumer does, and I also think he has a better chance of winning the fight on the judges’ scorecards. I don’t see Blumer knocking Curran out or submitting him. There is a chance he could win a decision, but his betting price of -115, I could not justify a play. I don’t see Curran knocking Blumer out, either, but I can very well see him submitting him. Again, if it hits the scorecards, I favor Curran, so at -125 I like him for the second leg for my two-way parlay. Gabe’s Call: Curran by Submission(rear naked choke, 4:39 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Parlays: Smith (-175) parlayed with Curran (-125) at +182 for 1.4u to win 2.56u
