UFC 184’s Mark Munoz: ‘I need to be unpredictable’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 184 middleweight Mark Munoz about his upcoming preliminary card bout tonight (February 28, 2015) against Roan Carneiro at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

The “Filipino Wrecking Machine” isn’t taking his short notice replacement opponent lightly, and he’s been preparing specifically for Carneiro ever since the bout was announced:

“I gameplanned for this fight. I’ve added new things. I think you need to reinvent yourself when you step into the Octagon. Sure you’re gonna have the same tendency, but if you have a different weapon when you go into the Octagon the next time, I think you’re that much stronger and that much more unpredictable. I think that’s the key for me in this fight. I need to be unpredictable whether he thinks I’m shooting or punching or kneeing. That’s what I need. I need to have him off balance. I can’t have him just thinking I’m gonna shoot the whole time and take him down.”
