MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 61 middleweight Sam Alvey about his upcoming main card bout tomorrow night (February 22, 2015) against Cezar Ferreira at the Ginásio Gigantinho in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
The former MFC middleweight champion expects a very tough challenge against The Ultimate Fighter Brazil season one winner, but he feels he can counter Ferreira’s biggest strengths:
“Cezar Ferreira is a stud. We’ve been watching a lot of film on him and he’s got a small career so far but a lot of it has been on TV so you can see his progressions. He’s very talented, very athletic. He kicks as hard as anyone in the UFC and he does those fancy spinning kicks. I dare him to try and hit me with those. I hope I don’t have to eat my words. His kicks are very intimidating. As long as I counter those, I can counter his limited wrestling but good jiu-jitsu, I think I’ll be alright.”
