MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC on Fox 14 middleweight Gegard Mousasi about his upcoming co-main event bout this Saturday night (Jan. 24, 2015) against Dan Henderson at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholme, Sweden.
The former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion has a significant 15-year age advantage heading into this bout, and he feels it will be a huge benefit to him as long as he doesn’t let Henderson get comfortable:
“He’s experienced, he’s seasoned, but on the other side, all those years of competition wears you out. That’s exactly what I think is happening with Dan Henderson now, he’s just worn out. You can’t compete year in, year out. I think that’s the problem with Dan now. But still, he has the experience, the knowledge. He’s smart. He’s gonna fight. He’s gonna try to fight his way. That’s the experience you get being a competitor for so long. I shouldn’t be fighting at his rhythm because if I do that, even if he’s old, he’s gonna have a good fight. I have to fight my fight. That’s the most important thing.”
