World Series of Fighting 16 airs on NBC Sports Network this Saturday night, going head-to-head with UFC on Fox 13, so it will be interesting to see what attention, if any, is paid to the card. They’ve put together a solid card, as former UFC welterweight title challenger Jon Fitch looks to wrest away the WSOF 170lb title from incumbent champion and former fellow former UFC standout Rousimar Palhares. A pair of strong grapplers, Fitch will look to either utilize his wrestling or striking to get the win while Palhares will always be on the hunt for his patented heel hook attack, which has finished (and injured) a wide array of opponents throughout his career. The card has an additional title fight, as champion Rick Glenn puts his featherweight title on the line in his first defense against Team Alpha Male product and former Ohio State All-American wrestler Lance Palmer. Kicking off the main card will be a trio of bouts as Gabriel Solorio takes on Sheymon Moraes, Josh Berkovic battles top prospect Brenson Hansen and another Team Alpha Male fighter Justin Bucholz takes on Lewis Gonzalez. MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas opened the betting lines for the WSOF 16 main card today at Several Bookmakers.
