Five Crazy UFC 180 Prop Bets That Cashed Big

jessica-eye Five crazy prop bets is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here’s five crazy UFC 180 bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Kelvin Gastelum wins by submission (+720)/Gastelum wins in round 1 (+500) In the co-main event of UFC 180, Kelvin Gastelum improved his UFC record to 5-0 with a first-round submission victory over Jake Ellenberger. Gastelum, who is still undefeated in his MMA career, has never looked better in the Octagon and he’s certainly someone to keep an eye out for as he could be in the welterweight title picture soon enough. The prop on Gastelum by submission cashed at +720 and the prop on him winning in the first round cashed at +500. Congrats to anyone who believed in him. Ricardo Lamas wins by submission (+725)/Lams wins in round 1 (+850) In a featherweight bout, Ricardo Lamas proved why he should have never been an underdog to Dennis Bermudez as he submitted the TUF 14 veteran in the first round with a guillotine choke. It was one of the most impressive wins on Lamas’ career, and anyone who bet on him make some good cash as the prop on Lamas by submission hit at +775 and the prop on him winning round 1 cashed at +850. Hector Urbina wins by submission (+775)/Urbina wins in round 1 (+550) In the opening main card bout, TUF 19 alum Hector Urbina submitted Edgar Garcia in the first round with a guillotine choke. Not much was expected from Urbina in this fight, but he showed with the victory that he is a UFC fighter and he’s an interesting to guy to look forward to in the future as the UFC is expected to push him as a draw in Mexico. The prop on Urbina by submission cashed at +775, and Urbina wins in round 1 hit at +550. Alejandro Perez wins by decision (+400) In the finals of the TUF Latin America featherweight tournament, Alejandro Perez pulled off the upset as he defeated Jose Quinonez via unanimous decision, albeit not without controversy. Most observers thought that Quinonez was doing enough to edge out the win, but in the third round referee Mario Yamasaki deducted two points from Quinonez from a headbutt, and they wound up costing him the bout, awarding Perez the win. The prop on Perez wins by decision cashed at +400, a nice hit for anyone who had the wherewithal to lay a wager on it. Jessica Eye wins by TKO (+580)/Eye wins in round 2 (+825) In a women’s ban bantamweight bout, Jessica Eye had the best performance of her career as he defeated Leslie Smith via second-round TKO. Eye absolutely lit Smith up on the feet in the first and punctured her opponent’s cauliflower open with a punch, an injury that was eventually the reason the fight was stopped by the doctors in the second round. The most likely outcome was Eye winning by decision, and because of that the prop on Eye by TKO was undervalued at +580. As well, the prop on Eye wins in round 2 was undervalued at +825. Congrats to anyone who bet either.
