Five crazy prop bets is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here’s five crazy Bellator 131 bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Tito Ortiz wins by decision (+150) In the main event of Bellator 131, Tito Ortiz outstruck and outwrestled Stephan Bonnar en route to a split decision win. Ortiz clearly won at least two and likely three rounds based on the Unified Rules, but for some reason one judge gave Bonnar the fight. Still, Ortiz got his hand raised, and the prop on him winning by decision cashed at +150. Congrats to anyone who bet that, as it was a nice get. Will Brooks wins by TKO (+1250)/Brooks wins in round 4 (+3200) In the co-main event of Bellator 131, Will Brooks became the undisputed Bellator lightweight champion as he was able to TKO Michael Chandler in the fourth round with punches. The ending was bizarre and was shocking for most, but anyone who believed in Brooks’ skill and ability cashed in big. The prop on Brooks wins by TKO cashed at a huge +1250, and the prop on him winning in round 4 was even bigger at +3200. Joe Schilling wins inside the distance (+159) In a middleweight matchup, Joe Schilling was able to knock out Melvin Manhoef in devastating fashion in the second round after surviving a scare in the first. Schilling was the underdog in this fight, but anyone who picked him to win made some decent cash as he was able to come through with a brutal victory. The prop on Schilling wins inside the distance cashed at +159, a great bet for anyone who had the courage to back him. Mike Richman wins inside the distance (+130) In a catchweight bout, Mike Richman absolutely decimated an out-of-shape Nam Phan en route to a first-round stoppage win. Phan is not a good fighter and he doesn’t have a good chin and Richman was able to catch it and put him out quickly. The prop on Richman wins inside the distance was somehow plus odds at +130, so nice job to anyone who bet it. King Mo vs. Joe Vedepo OVER 1.5 rounds (+155) In the opening main card fight, King Mo beat the stuffing out of Joe Vedepo for nearly three rounds before the referee mercifully stopped it in the third once Vedepo, who is too tough for his own good, stopped defending himself. The prop on this fight going OVER 1.5 rounds hit at +155. If you were smart enough to realize how tough Vedepo was and bet this fight to go over, congrats on the winning prop.
