Gabe Killian’s Live Dogs for UFC Fight Night 56

Charlie-BrennemanUFC Fight Night 56 Date: November 8, 2014 Arena: Ginasio Municipal Tancredo Neves City: Uberlandia, Mina Gerais, Brazil The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Brazil this Saturday night with UFC Fight Night 56 with a five-fight main card that will be live on FOX Sports 1 at 10:30pm ET. Preliminary action will be preceding it at 2pm ET on FOX Sports 2. If interested in wagering on these proposition plays, or any other plays for this fight card, you may do so at Several Bookmakerss. My live dogs for UFC Fight Night 56 in Brazil are: Light Heavyweight bout: Mauricio “Shogun” Rua (-190) vs Ovince St. Preux (+165) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a close fight and I think it should be a coin flip, so for a value play, I will side with OSP. I think he will be able to take “Shogun” down and do damage from his guard. He has very heavy hands, so I think there is a decent chance he will manage to stop Rua and finally make him move down to the middleweight division. If this fight stays on the feet, “Shogun” will get the better of OSP, as he is the superior technical striker of the two. While both are very heavy hitters, I think OSP packs more power in his punches. I think he will need to get this fight to the mat, and I think the chances of that happening are fairly good. I think the value here is with OSP, and I’ll be sticking with him for my play, as I believe he is a live dog in this five round main event affair. Gabe’s Call: OSP by T/KO (punches, 3:28 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: OSP (+160) 1.75u to win 2.8u Middleweight bout: Caio Magalhaes (+220) vs Trevor Smith (+200) Gabe’s Thoughts: To put it simply, I think Smith is the smarter fighter of the two, and feel he will find a way to pull out the win here against the wild and reckless Magalhaes. Gabe’s Call: Smith by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Trevor Smith (+200) 2.5u to win 5u Lightweight bout: Charlie Brenneman (+120) vs Leandro Silva (-120) Gabe’s Thoughts: I expect Brenneman to finally pick up his first win in the UFC’s 155 pound division in Brazil. I see him using his superior wrestling to repeatedly take Silva down and grind him out for the unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. I would not be surprised to see him score a submission or TKO, but I think more than likely he takes this win the old school Charlie Brenneman way. Gabe’s Call: Brenneman by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Charlie Brenneman (+120) 5u to win 6u
