UFC Fight Night 56 Date: November 8, 2014 Arena: Ginasio Municipal Tancredo Neves City: Uberlandia, Mina Gerais, Brazil The Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to Brazil this Saturday night with UFC Fight Night 56 with a five fight main card that will be live on FOX Sports 1 at 10:30pm ET. Preliminary action will be preceding it at 8pm ET on FOX Sports 2. If interested in making this parlay, or any other wagers for this UFC fight card, you will be able to do so at Several Bookmakerss. Here’s my preliminary card parlay for UFC Fight Night 56 in Brazil: Bantamweight bout: Thomas Almeida (-350) vs Tim Gorman (+360) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is the promotional debut for Almeida, who is giving up is Legacy FC bantamweight title to make his debut inside the Octagon. Gorman is coming off a loss to Canadian Mitch Gagnon and will be looking to bounce back, but unfortunately for him, I think this is way too tall of an order. I believe Almeida is simply the superior mixed martial artist and think he will have a field day with Gorman. Gorman is tough, so even though Almeida has finished all 17 of the opponents he has faced, I could see Gorman making it to the three round distance. Outside of the flukiest of flukes or some awful disqualification, I don’t see how Almeida loses this fight. I could see him winning by T/KO, submission or dominant decision, and even at the current heavy-juiced odds of -350, I think there’s plenty of value in him, as I personally think he should be a -650 betting favorite over Gorman heading into this 135 pound scrap. Gabe’s Call: Almeida by Unanimous Decision (30-25, 30-26, 30-26) Welterweight bout: Colby Covington (-450) vs Wagner Silva (+330) Gabe’s Thoughts: Covington will be traveling to Brazil for his second UFC appearance to take on Brazilian on enemy soil, and I believe this fight will be all Covington, as I see him scoring an early takedown and dominating the Brazilian on the mat en route to a possible T/KO stoppage. I think there is a good chance he scores a TKO in this 170-pound contest to make it back to back TKO finishes for him inside the Octagon. Covington is without a doubt the better fighter here and this is another instance in which I cannot realistically envision the fighter who is the betting favorite to end up losing. While heavy-juiced at the current line of -450, I still see value, as I think he should be at least a 5-to-1 favorite over this Brazilian in this contest. For that reason, I find him worthy of being the second leg to my two-way parlay for the preliminary card of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night 56 in Brazil. Gabe’s Call: Covington by T/KO (punches, 4:35 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Almeida (-350) parlayed with Covington (-450) for -175 3.5u to win 2u
