Five Crazy UFC FN 53 Prop Bets That Cashed Big

Mike-Wilkinson Five crazy prop bets is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every UFC event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card Here’s five crazy UFC Fight Night 53 bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Rick Story wins by decision (+500)/Story wins by split or majority decision (+1245) In the main event of the evening, Rick Story was able to absolutely batter Gunnar Nelson on the feet and take home a clear-cut decision — or so, it should have been clear cut. Despite easily winning three rounds of the fight, for some reason one judge gave the fight to Nelson and those who backed the dog were in for a sweat. Luckily, though, the other two judges knew how to judge a fight and awarded it to Story, and the prop on him winning by decision scored at +500. But even crazier was the Story by split/majority decision prop, which cashed out at a ridiculous +1245, a great hit to anyone who sprinkled some cash on it. Jan Blachowicz wins inside the distance (+435) In a light heavyweight bout, Jan Blachowicz has a tremendous UFC debut as he was able to land a hard body kick on Ilir Latifi in round one and quickly finish him off with strikes to the head. Blachowicz was a big underdog heading into the fight as most expected Latifi to win, and thus the props on the Pole were undervalued as well. The prop on Blachowicz wins inside the distance cashed at +435, so congrats to anyone who bet it as I certainly didn’t think this one had a hope of cashing seeing as how Blachowicz hadn’t had a finish in over three years. Mike Wilkinson wins inside the distance (+928) In a featherweight fight, Mike Wilkinson shocked the MMA world as he was able to land a brutal counter right hand on the jaw of Niklas Backstrom and finish the Swedish prospect in brutal fashion in the first round. This was definitely one of the biggest upsets of the year and not surprisingly the props on Wilkinson were quite undervalued, including the prop on Wilkinson wins inside the distance, which hit at a ridiculous +928. Magnus Cedenblad wins by decision (+300) In a middleweight contest, Magnus Cedenblad was able to grind out top prospect Scott Askham and win a clear-cut 29-28 unanimous decision. Cedenblad never goes to decision so it makes sense the prop on him winning by points was a juicy +300, but anyone who figured he would be able to grind out the win definitely was happy that was undervalued as this was a nice prop to hit and line the pockets with. Krzysztof Jotko wins by decision (+185) And finally, in a preliminary middleweight bout, Krzysztof Jotko defeated Tor Troeng via unanimous decision. Like most expected, Jotko was able to stop all of Troeng’s takedown attempts, keep the fight standing, and use his striking advantage to win the standup. And yet, despite that, the line on Jotko winning by decision was +185, and anyone who bet on that got a steal of a prop bet.
