Straus CurranBellator 127 Date: October 3, 2014 Arena: Pechanga Resort and Casino City: Temecula, CA Bellator 127 will be live from Temecula, CA on tonight (Friday, October 3, 2014)with an 11-fight card, including a four-fight main card that will be live on Spike at 9pm ET. If interested in making this parlay, or any other wagers for this Bellator fight card, you will be able to do so at Several Bookmakerss. Here’s my two-way parlay for Bellator 127: Featherweight bout: Daniel Straus (-530) vs Justin “The Silverback” Wilcox (+350) Gabe’s Thoughts: I believe Straus is the superior mixed martial artist in this match-up and is simply better than Wilcox everywhere, even in the wrestling department, which is Wilcox’s field of expertise. Wilcox is always very tough and durable, especially at 145-pounds, so while I don’t think there is a great chance Straus finishes him, I do think he will be able to convincingly win every single round en route to picking up a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards, while simultaneously making his very first Bellator featherweight title defense. Despite also being the superior wrestler, I think Straus is going to keep the majority, if not entirety of this fight on the feet, where he will hold a significant advantage with his striking which continues to improve fight to fight. I think he will find success keeping the fight standing, where he will batter Wilcox and treat him like a punching bag for three rounds of action. “The Silverback” is solid at 145-pounds, but nonetheless, I expect this to be a walk in a park for the former champion. Even at the current heavy-juiced price of -530, I think there is enough value in Straus to include him as the first leg of my two-way parlay for Bellator 127. Gabe’s Call: Straus by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Welterweight bout: Fernando “The Menifee Maniac” Gonzalez (-105) vs Karo “The Heat” Parisyan (-135) Gabe’s Thoughts: Parisyan opened as a -270 favorite over Gonzalez at the sportsbooks for the match-up, but action quickly came in on the Latino, driving the Armenian’s price down to -135, near coin-flip betting odds. I agree that there was some value was with Gonzalez at his opening line of +190, as I had this fight handicapped with him being +170 and Parisyan being -200. While there would have been slight value in Gonzalez at that line, I would have ultimately passed on a bet. However, at these current odds with the Armenian being -135, I do see enough value in him to include him in this two-way parlay for Bellator 127. I think Parisyan has the grappling skills to win rounds and possibly submit Gonzalez. At this point, I won’t be surprised to see him score his third consecutive T/KO, especially considering the fact that five of the Latino’s 13 professional mixed martial arts defeats have come in said fashion. As long as Parisyan does not get knocked out, I think this is his fight to lose. Gabe’s Call: Parisyan by Submission (armbar, 2:13 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Straus (-530) parlayed with Parisyan (-135) for +106 3.75u to win 4u
