Bellator 127 took place tonight at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California, and the main card was action packed as it featured a number of brutal finishes. Overall from a betting perspective, two betting favorites won while two underdogs surprised based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Here’s a quick recap for each fight. Favorites That Won In the main event of the evening, Daniel Straus defeated Justin Wilcox via first-round KO (punches) in a featherweight bout. Wilcox leapt into Straus’ range for seemingly no reason early in the fight, and he was caught with a massive punch and put out very quickly. A great finish by Straus, and he’s a top contender for the Bellator featherweight title. Straus cashed at -575 (bet $575 to win $100) while Wilcox lost at +470 (bet $100 to win $470). In a catchweight (138lbs) bout, Rafael Silva defeated Rob Emerson via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28 x 2). Silva rocked and hurt Emerson badly in the first round and Emerson was just never able to recover after it, as Silva used his wrestling skills throughout the rest of the fight to take Emerson down to the floor and beat him up on the mat. Silva was -190 while Emerson was +175. Underdogs That Won In a catchweight (173lbs) bout, Fernando Gonzalez defeated Karo Parisyan via first-round TKO (punches). Gonzalez hurt Parisyan on the feet to knock him down to the floor and then used some nasty ground and pound to finish the job. Gonzalez was a +145 dog while Parisyan was a -155 favorite. In a middleweight bout, Kendall Grove defeated Christian M’Pumbu via second-round submission (rear-naked choke). Grove used his reach to land on M’Pumbu in the first round and knock him to the ground, and then in the second showed off his well-rounded game as he was able to take M’Pumbu to the ground and submit him with the rear-naked choke. Grove was +130 while M’Pumbu was -140.
