Five crazy prop bets is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every UFC event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card Here’s five crazy UFC Fight Night 52 bets that cashed big based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Mark Hunt wins in round 2 (+750) In the main event of UFC Fight Night 52, Mark Hunt ended Roy Nelson’s streak of taking punishment in the Octagon when he nailed “Big Country” with a beautifully-timed uppercut in the second round that left Nelson completely out cold for the first time in his UFC career. Not many people thought it was possible for Hunt to finish Nelson, and the odds suggested he would have a hard time doing so. But if you figured he would get the stoppage in round two, you cashed at a clip of +750, so nice job if you bet that prop. Kiichi Kunimoto wins by decision (+207) In a welterweight bout, Kiichi Kunimoto defeated Richard Walsh via controversial split decision. I probably wouldn’t include a side winning by decision at around +200 as a crazy prop most days, but in this particular case I think it’s warranted because the decision itself was crazy. This was clearly Walsh’s fight, and yet the judges gave it to Kunimoto somehow, and I really have no idea how. Either way, Kunimoto wins by decision cashed at +207. Kyogi Horiguchi/Jon delos Reyes UNDER 1.5 rounds (+165) Usually I only include props/totals over +200 for this article, but I have to give a shout to the UNDER 1.5 rounds total in the fight between Kyoji Horiguchi vs. Jon delos Reyes fight, which cashed easily when Horiguchi finished the fight in the first. I really have no idea why this prop was available at plus money but for anyone who bet it, they came away with an easy payday because this cashed easily. Masanori Kanehara wins by decision (+385) In a bantamweight fight, Masanori Kanehara upset Alex Caceres by taking home a clear-cut 29-28 unanimous decision. No one was giving Kanehara much of a shot at pulling off the win but he looked very solid in his UFC debut and clearly deserved to win. The prop on Kanehara by decision cashed at +385, so congrats to anyone who bet that. Johnny Case wins inside the distance (+245) In a preliminary lightweight bout, Johnny Case earned a stoppage win in his UFC debut as he defeated Kazuki Tukodome via second-round submission (guillotine choke). Tokudome took the first round, but Case looked more relaxed in round two and after tagging and dropping Tokudome with a hard shot grabbed his neck and squeezed his opponent to sleep in devastating fashion. The prop on Case wins inside the distance closed at +245.
