Gabe Killian’s Live Dogs for Cage Warriors 72

Cory TaitCage Warriors 72 Date: September 13, 2014 Arena: Newport Centre City: Newport, Wales Cage Warriors will be live from Newport, Wales tomorrow with a 10-fight card, including a five-fight main card that will stream live on MMAjunkie.com at 4pm ET. Interested in wagering on these plays, or any other plays for this fight card, you may do so at Several Bookmakerss. My live dogs for Cage Warriors 72 are: Bantamweight bout: Cory Tait (+125) vs Toni Tauru (-165) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a scrap between a pair of talented bantamweights and I think the fight could really go either way. Furthermore, I think the betting odds for this one should be at a coin-flip, so I feel we are getting a little value with Tait at +125. Not much, but just enough to risk up to a full unit. In short, I think this will be a closely contested battle that hits the judges’ cards for a decision, and I predict it will be a split. Gabe’s Call: Tait by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Tait (+125) 1u to win 1.25u Welterweight bout: Che Mills (-315) vs Jack Marshman (+235) Gabe’s Thoughts: Mills is a UFC veteran and has been on a major decline, which I think started with his co-main event bout against Rory MacDonald. He was thrown to the wolves too quickly, and in a main event Pay Per View slot, too. He was horrendously dominated by MacDonald, and made into a bloody mess. I think that mentally affected him and he has not been the same fighter since. He does not seem to have the fighting spirit anymore and seems to only be fighting for the paycheck. His cardio has seriously declined, and his wrestling is not getting any better. I think his only route to victory in this match-up is to catch Marshman and finish him. Considering Marshman’s shaky chin, that is a likely possibility, but not likely enough to warrant the betting line of -315, which Mills is currently at. I could see Marshman scoring a finish over Mills, but if it hits the judges’ scorecards, I see him being the one getting his hand raised there, as well. I see him having more routes to victory in this match-up and lean with him for my pick. At the current betting line of +235, I do believe there is value in him and think it is worth a small play. Gabe’s Call: Marshman by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Marshman (+235) 1.15u to win 2.7u
