Bellator 124’s Joey Beltran: ‘I’m gonna be the Bellator world champion’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 124 light heavyweight Joey Beltran as he prepares for his upcoming main event title bout against Emanuel Newton this Friday night (September 12th, 2014) at the Compuware Arena in Plymouth Township, Michigan.

The former UFC standout has caught some flack for receiving a title shot due to some feeling it was undeserved, but “The Mexicutioner” is looking forward to answering his critics come fight time:

“I could come up with a couple reasons as to why people wouldn’t be so warm to this, warm to the idea of me fighting, but you know what? I don’t really care. Bottom line is I have an opportunity. I’m gonna take full advantage of it. I’m gonna go out there and finish [Emanuel Newton] and I’m gonna be the Bellator world champion. After that happens, people can’t have much room to talk shit after that.”
