Invicta FC 8 Date: September 6, 2014 Arena: Municipal Auditorium City: Kansas City, MO The long-awaited Invicta FC 8 will be live at 8pm ET tonight (Saturday, Sept. 6th) for the first time on UFC Fight Pass with a 10-fight card, and fireworks are certainly expected. Here is my parlay for Invicta FC 8: Women’s Bantamweight bout: Ediane Gomes (-245) vs Tonya Evinger (+175) Gabe’s Thoughts: Gomes is the superior mixed martial artist here and I expect here to dominate Evinger in this match-up, eventually stopping her. If she does not earn a stoppage, I believe it will be a convincing 30-27 nod for her on the judges’ scorecards. That said, I strongly do favor a finish, and I could see it coming either way by of submission or T/KO. I predict she ground and pounds Evinger, getting her to expose her neck, at which point she will sink in a choke in exchange for a tap. I love her for the first leg of my two-way parlay for Invicta FC 8, as I see a lot of value in her at the current betting line of -245. I believe this is her fight to lose and I don’t count on that happening. Gabe’s Call: Gomes by Submission (rear naked choke, 3:33 round 2) Women’s Flyweight bout: Deanna Bennett (-210) vs Michelle Ould (+160) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a fight between a pair of women’s 125-pounders who I believe will have a bright future in the sport, though think it is Bennett who will have the brighter future, as I feel she is the superior mixed martial artist of the two heading into this three-round scrap. At the current betting line of -210, I see enough value in Bennett to include her as the second leg for my two-way parlay for Invicta FC 8 in Missouri. Gomes and Bennett are in fact the only fighters on the card who I think carry value at the sportsbooks and feel they make a great pair for a parlay. This will be my only play for Saturday night.
