UFC Fight Night 49 Date: August 23, 2014 Arena: BOK Center City: Tulsa, Oklahoma Your Best Bets for UFC Fight Night 49’s ‘Fight of The Night’ UFC Fight Night 49 will be live from Tulsa, Oklahoma this Saturday night for the first time in a decade. The six-fight main card will be live on FOX Sports 1 at 10pm, with a preliminary card to precede it at 8pm ET on FOX Sports 2. If interested in wagering on these proposition plays, or any other plays for this fight card, you may do so at Several Bookmakerss. I believe the best-value contenders for this prize are: Henderson/dos Anjos +335 — This bout will only be exciting if dos Anjos shows up completely on top of his game and does not get dominated by the former champion. At the current betting line of +335, I think there is barely enough value to warrant a very small stab. I can’t blame anybody for playing this prop at +300 or better, but should it drop below 3-to-1 underdog odds, I recommend it be avoided entirely. Should these lightweights take home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, it would mean the second time for the Brazilian, while being the third for the former champion in Henderson. Mein/Pyle +535 — This is a solid match-up in the UFC’s welterweight division and I think it is one that is going to prove to be very exciting, regardless of how long it lasts. I could see a very early finish or three rounds of back and forth action. I am expecting these two to produce an entertaining scrap, and at +535, I definitely think there is enough value to warrant a bet. I was hoping for +400 or better, so I am happy with the current line of +535. Should this fight take home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, it would mean the first time for both Mein and Pyle. I think there is a very good chance they each take home $50,000 tonight. Dariush/Martin +675 — I am expecting this to be a very entertaining scrap in the UFC’s 155-pound division and it is my personal favorite to take home the prize. At +675, there is plenty of value to warrant a play. Dariush and Martin are tremendously talented grapplers who are improving in every aspect of the sport, though I would give the striking edge to Dariush. However, Martin is the more aggressive fighter, and that could very well benefit him in this contest. This bout makes the third Octagon outing for Dariush and the second for Martin; should take home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus worth $50,000, it would mean the first time for both lightweights.
