UFC 178’s Tim Kennedy: ‘Yoel Romero doesn’t like to get hit’

MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 178 middleweight Tim Kennedy as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout against Yoel Romero next month (September 27, 2014) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The former two-time Strikeforce title challenger has a huge test ahead of him that could get him one step closer to a UFC middleweight title shot, and he feels his opponent’s lack of toughness could be a factor:

“[Yoel Romero] doesn’t like to be hit. He backs out with his hands down, with his chin up because he doesn’t like to get hit, so I’ve got to come after him. I’ve got to move forward and not give him range because he’s a very explosive guy. If I give him range to do what he wants, it could be a rough night. That’s not gonna happen. I’m gonna be in his face the whole time. He’s going to have to stuff my takedown. He’s gonna have to try to not get hit with my big punches.”
