140 Characters Or Less: UFC 177 Edition

Joe-Soto 140 Characters Or Less A Fight is a new addition to MMAOddsbreaker.com, where writer Adam Martin will sum up his thoughts on each bout from the latest UFC card in the size of a single tweet. TJ Dillashaw vs. Joe Soto: Dillashaw is by far the best guy at 135lbs. Really not sure if he has any holes in his game. As for Soto, tough and he gained my respect. Tony Ferguson vs. Danny Castillo: Interesting fight between Ferguson & Castillo. Ferguson edged it out on the cards but I was hoping to see more out of him. Maybe next time. Shayna Baszler vs. Bethe Correia: After a tough start Correia really came out guns of blazing. Vicious TKO in the second, Kampmann/Daley style. Baszler needs to change camps. Ramsey Nijem vs. Carlos Diego Ferreira Ferreira is not just a grappler he’s a complete mixed martial artist. Looked great. Nijem’s chin will never let him reach the top at 155lbs. Yancy Medeiros vs. Damon Jackson Medeiros needed that win in a bad way. Awesome choke. Jackson was game but isn’t big enough for 155lbs. Could still be a player at 145 tho. Lorenz Larkin vs. Derek Brunson: Brunson had improved big time since the Strikeforce days. Top 20 fighter at 185lbs. Larkin? He’s now lost 3 in a row and will likely be cut. Anthony Hamilton vs. Ruan Potts: Hamilton’s punches to the body were plain nasty. Not a great fighter, but he beats the bottom feeders. Potts is the worst HW on the roster. Chris Wade vs. Carrizosa: Wade looked great. Reminded me of a mini Chris Weidman. Showed excellent grappling transitions. Can’t wait to see what’s next for him.
