MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 122 middleweight Brett Cooper as he prepares for his main event bout Friday night (July 25, 2014) against Brandon Halsey at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California.
The two-time middleweight tournament finalist has a much longer track record than Halsey, but he doesn’t plan on taking the top prospect lightly one bit:
“If I kill him, it doesn’t really hurt his worth. I have almost 30 fights and it’s not like I fought 30 nobodies. I’ve fought a good amount of decent guys for the majority of my career. It’s win-win for him. It’s win-win for me too because I’m trying to make money (laughs). It’s the tournament final so it’s pretty decent money. I’m looking forward to getting this fight and one more fight this year. If I win, we’ll hopefully move smoothly into next year. To walk that trash-talking line, is he worthy? I’ll show you if he’s worthy or not. (laughs)”
