MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 44 featherweight Ricardo Lamas as he prepares for his main card bout this Saturday night (June 28, 2014) against Hacran Dias at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The recent number one contender doesn’t talk trash about his opponents, but he’s definitely done his homework to prepare for the Brazilian:
“He’s a little bit different. From what I’ve seen, he fights kind of like a wrestler. He comes in close, he grinds guys out, he looks for body locks. He takes a lot of people down off the body locks. He’s very strong there. He’s hard to take down himself. He has good balance. I recently watched his fight against Nik Lentz and he seems uncomfortable off his back. He prefers to be on top. That’s what we’ll have to stay away from. Avoid the takedowns, get a takedown early in the round, wear him out and get him tired.”
