Yesterday, MMAOddsbreaker.com released the remaining opening betting odds for the UFC 175 prelims, and for today’s MMA Odds and Ends I’ll give my quick thought on all of the new lines. Kenny Robertson vs. Ildemar Alcantara A welterweight matchup between Kenny Robertson and Ildemar Alcantara should prove to be quite exciting. Alcantara opened at -125 and Robertson -115, and now Alcantara is -160 and Robertson is +120. This is a close fight but I think Robertson has more ways to win the match and I like him at plus money and plan on making a small play on him if the price holds. Bruno Santos vs. Chris Camozzi A middleweight bout between Bruno Santos and Chris Camozzi is also part of the prelims. Camozzi opened at -260 with Santos at +180, and so far the line has stayed steady. I favor Camozzi here like most but at this price it’s not worth betting, as far as I’m concerned. Rob Font vs. George Roop A bantamweight bout between Rob Font and George Roop should be a lot of fun. Roop opened at -180 and Font opened at +140, and now Roop is -190 and Font is +150. Although Font is an intriguing bantamweight prospect, Roop is one of the best 135ers in the world and deserves to be favored here. If the price drops down on Roop, I will likely be making a play on him as I think he wins this fight, although with his chin the possibility of a knockout loss is always there. Luke Zachrich vs. Guilherme Vasconcelos A middleweight fight between Luke Zachrich and Guilherme Vasconcelos is also part of the prelims. Vasconcelos opened at -170 and Zachrich at +130, and so far the line hasn’t moved. I definitely favor Vasconcelos here as I believe this is a good spot to fade Zachrich. Although Zachrich will have a size advantage in this one, Vasconcelos has more upside and is improving more and I do think he’ll win this fight, so I’m planning on making a play on him. Kevin Casey vs. Bubba Bush And finally, a middleweight bout between former RFA champ Kevin Casey and former Legacy FC champ Bubba Bush opens up the Fight Pass prelims. Bush opened as a -140 favorite with Casey a +100 dog, and the public has bet Bush up to -180 and Casey is down to +140. This is a really tough fight to pick but I do slightly lean towards Casey and at +140 there could be some value on him. If Bush keeps getting bet up like expected and Casey hits near +200, I’ll be taking a shot at him.
