RFA 15 Date: June 6, 2014 Arena: Veterans Memorial Auditorium City: Culver City, CA RFA 15 will be live on AXS tonight at 10pm ET with a six-fight main card that is sure to produce fireworks. If interested in wagering on this card, these lines will be made available to you at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my plays for the card… Middleweight title bout: bout: Andrew Sanchez (-130) vs Kevin Casey (-110) Gabe’s Thoughts: I am a fan of both of these middleweights, and had been eyeing Sanchez for a “Prospect Watch” article before he was booked for this title fight. I think he is the superior mixed martial artist. I think he will be better on the feet, and will find success with his wrestling. He will be at a disadvantage in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu against the Gracie-trained black belt in Casey, but I think his submission defense will hold up. Sanchez also has the better conditioning, so I think he will take this fight into deep waters and stop Casey in the championship rounds. I think Sanchez should be a -230 favorite, so I love him at -130. The only way I see him losing is by getting caught with something. That could happen, but I think the chances of it happening are very slim. Gabe’s Call: Sanchez by TKO (punches, 4:59 round 4) Gabe’s Recommended Plays: Andrew Sanchez (-130) 5.2u to win 4u Welterweight bout: Alan Jouban (+110) vs Ricky Legere, Jr. (-150) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Jouban is the superior fighter in this welterweight match-up and I expect him to outstrike Legere, Jr. en route to a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards, ultimately picking up his third win under the RFA banner. I would not be surprised to see Jouban string together a couple of more wins after this fight and earn a call from Joe Silva and the UFC. Though, the one question I have is if he is a natural welterweight, or if lightweight is where he really belongs. Gabe’s Call: Jouban by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Alan Jouban (+110) 2u to win 2.2u Lightweight bout: James Moontsari (-230) vs Jordan Rinaldi (+170) Gabe’s Thoughts: Rinaldi is a solid fighter and I am a fan of his, but I think Moontsari is better, and that combined with the fact that he will have a size advantage over Rinaldi heading into this bout, I favor him for a play. Gabe’s Call: Moontsari by Unanimous Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: James Moontsari (-230) 3.45u to win 1.5u
