MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 42 lightweight Jason High as he prepares for his main card bout this Saturday (May 31, 2014) against Rafael dos Anjos at the Tingley Colliseum in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“The Kansas City Bandit” is fighting at the highest level he’s competed at thus far in his career, and he’s hoping that a third victory in a row, this time over a top 10 opponent will earn him the appropriate recognition:
“You gotta put me top 10 when I beat [Rafael dos Anjos]. I think he’s ranked number eight or so in the division. I know it’s my first fight in the division, but coming off two at 170, this would be my third in a row. Definitely top 10. My weight cut has been pretty uneventful so far. After a light workout I was at 171. I wouldn’t say I was undersized, but I’m a shorter guy. I never felt overpowered at 170, but I’d say 90 percent of the guys I fought were at least a few inches taller than me. It’s coming off pretty easy really.”
