MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 41 middleweight Mark Munoz as he prepares for his headlining bout this Saturday (May 31, 2014) against Gegard Mousasi at the 02 World in Berlin, Germany.
The former national champion wrestler knows what he has to do if he wants to defeat his talented kickboxing opponent, and that’s exploit the ground game:
“Historically, in all of [Gegard Mousasi]’s fights, he’s always had trouble with wrestlers. He’s always had trouble with stopping the shot and he’s training in the Netherlands right now. Who’s there to wrestle with? There’s nobody there. I know he’s come to LA a few times and people have been telling me he’s been training with some guys, but those guys aren’t me. When I get on a leg or a body lock, they’re not me and I’m a beast when I get on top of you.”
