Gabe Killian’s Plays for Titan FC 28

Titan FC 28Titan FC 28 Date: May 16, 2014 Arena: First Council Casino Hotel City: Newkirk, OK Titan FC 28 will be live today from the First Council Casino Hotel in Newkirk, OK and will be live on the CBS Sports Network at 10pm ET. If interested in wagering on these fights, you may do so at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my plays for the card… Light heavyweight bout: Jason Brilz (-120) vs Raphael Davis (+110) Gabe’s Prediction: I think the only way Brilz win this fight is if he grinds Davis out for three rounds and takes home a decision. Davis, however, could finish him, as well as take a decision. I think Davis should be a -160 favorite here, so for that reason I will be making a play on him as a small underdog. I feel there is a good chance he will stop Brilz, likely finding his chin. Gabe’s Call: Davis by KO (knee, 1:41 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Raphael Davis (+110) 2u to win 2.2u Heavyweight bout: Dave Herman (-155) vs Kalib Starnes (+125) Gabe’s Prediction: Herman will have a big size advantage heading into this bout, and that could make the difference. That said, I am expecting the fight to come down to Starnes’ speed and technical advantage. I think he will stick and move, but not for the entire fight. If he gets his openings, I think he will go for the finish. Considering that Herman does not exactly possess the greatest chin, a knockout for Starnes here is not completely out of the question. I think this fight is an even coin-flip, so for that reason I like a small play on Starnes as a small underdog. Gabe’s Call: Starnes by TKO (punches, 2:59, round 3) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Kalib Starnes (+125) 1u to win 1.25u Heavyweight bout: DJ Linderman (+130) vs Walt Harris (-170) Gabe’s Prediction: Simply put, Linderman is all-around the better mixed martial artist. He has more heart than Harris, and is much tougher than him. At +130, I have to side with him in this bout, as I personally think he should be a slight favorite. Gabe’s Call: Linderman by TKO (punches, 1:03, round 2) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Linderman (+130) 1.5u to win 1.95u Featherweight bout: Gleristone Santos (-300) vs Alvin Robinson (+240) Gabe’s Prediction: I think Robinson’s only chance of winning this fight is by scoring a very lucky submission. Other than that, I expect Santos to either finish him or win a convincing decision. It is worth noting that Robinson is taking this fight on short notice, so I think his cardio could play a factor, though I think Santos would beat him regardless of cardio issues. If this bout goes all three rounds, I think we will be seeing Santos displaying his skills and winning over fans, likely making noise in the UFC office. Gabe’s Call: Santos by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Santos (-300) parlayed with Foster (-250) for -116 1.45u to win 1.25u Welterweight bout: Brian Foster (-250) vs Gilbert Smith (+190) Gabe’s Prediction: Gilbert is really only good for one round. Not only does Foster have better cardio, but he is the better mixed martial artist, period. I think he will find success in using his superior kickboxing to outstrike The Ultimate Fighter season 17 veteran. I think he could stop Smith, be it by TKO or submission, but if it hits the judges’ scorecards, I like him to take the call home, though I would not be surprised if Smith did enough to win a round. Gabe’s Call: Foster by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Foster (-250) parlayed with Santos (-300) for -116 1.45u to win 1.25u
