MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Titan FC 28 heavyweight Kalib Starnes as he prepares for his main card bout this Friday night (May 16, 2014) against Dave Herman at the First Council Casino Hotel in Newkirk, Oklahoma.
The UFC middleweight veteran made a splash last year, defeating former UFC heavyweight Tim Hague after moving up two weight classes. While he knows Herman will be bigger, he feels he’s well-prepared:
“I’m moving up a weight class and fighting a guy who’s gonna probably have 30 or 40 pounds on me. He’s 6’5 and gonna have an 80 inch reach maybe. So I’m taking the fight real, real serious. I’ve got big training partners every day. I’ve got guys 6’4, good boxers, good wrestlers, sparring with good jiu-jitsu guys and I take it real serious.”
