Bellator 120’s Cheick Kongo: ‘Eric Smith will try to avoid me’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 120 heavyweight Cheick Kongo as he prepares for his Spike TV bout this Saturday night (May 17, 2014) against Eric Smith at the Landers Center in South Haven, Mississippi.

The veteran fighter is coming off a tough five-round title defeat at the hands of champion Vitaly Minakov, and he expects upcoming opponent Eric Smith to avoid the stand-up at all costs this time around:

“[Eric Smith] will try to avoid everything I can do, try to close the distance and just try to grab me and work on the ground. Other than that, it won’t be a big deal. I’ve prepared for that.”
