MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 40 flyweight Louis Smolka as he prepares for his main card bout this Saturday (May 10, 2014) against Chris Cariaso at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The talented unbeaten Hawaiian knows he has a stiff test in front of him in Cariaso, but he feels he’ll make the adjustments to “Kamikaze’s” unique style come fight night:
“Honestly, he’s kind of wild and he comes straight forward with hooks. That’s gonna be a new thing for me especially from the southpaw stance. That’s something I’ve never had to deal with before. We have to address that. My movement is going to have to change a little bit. My footwork and where I’m planting my lead leg will have to be different. It’s gonna be a good test for me but I’m confident I’ll be able to handle it.”
