MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 172 lightweight Isaac Vallie-Flagg as he prepares for his main card bout on Saturday night (April 26, 2014) against Takanori Gomi at the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland.
The Jackson-Winklejohn fighter is facing one of the old Pride legends in Gomi, and despite both men getting up in years, he’s expecting the very best “Fireball Kid” there is:
“Well [Gomi’s] had a year off. I honestly think he took this last year off to refresh himself and I think he’s gonna come out and you’re gonna see one of the better versions of Gomi. That’s what I’m preparing for. He’s had a few bumps in the road lately, but the only guys that are beating him are top notch guys. Is he at the tail end of his career? Who knows? He could be burned out or he could be refreshed. That’s the Gomi I’m ready for. I hope personally I get the best Gomi there is and get a chance to shine with that Gomi.”
