UFC on FOX 11 took place tonight at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida, and the event was pretty fantastic from top to bottom as it featured a number of back-and-forth bouts as well as a number of sweet finishes. Overall, nine favorites scored while four underdogs cashed. Here’s a betting recap for UFC on FOX 11 based on the closing results at Several Bookmakers: UFC on FOX 11 Underdogs That Won In the main event of the evening, Fabricio Werdum defeated Travis Browne via unanimous decision (49-46, 50-45, 50-45). Werdum’s striking looked absolutely phenomenal throughout the contest and he also landed a number of takedowns to pick up a huge upset win and earn a title shot against UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. Werdum closed as a +200 underdog (bet $100 to win $200), while Browne closed as a -200 favorite (bet $200 to win $100). In a lightweight bout, Donald Cerrone defeated Edson Barboza via first-round submission (rear-naked choke). Cerrone was getting lit up by Barboza in the early goings but he clipped Barboza with a jab that dropped him and then he jumped on his back for the RNC win. He closed as a +160 dog, while Barboza was a -170 favorite. In a middleweight bout, Yoel Romero defeated Brad Tavares via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). Romero’s wrestling looked incredible as he took Tavares down at will and won a clear-cut decision. Romero was a +135 underdog, while Tavares was a -145 favorite. In a featherweight bout, Alex White defeated Estevan Payan via first-round KO (punches). White hit Payan with a clean left hand that put him on his butt and White finished it up with strikes for his first UFC victory. He was a +105 underdog, while Payan lost as a -115 favorite. UFC on FOX 11 Favorites That Won In the co-main event of the evening, Miesha Tate defeated Liz Carmouche via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28). Carmouche looked to win the first two rounds with her wrestling while Tate clearly won the third, but the judges sided with Tate in a very close decision. She cashed as a -185 favorite, while Carmouche lost as a +170 dog. In a lightweight bout, Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated Rafael dos Anjos via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). Nurmagomedov’s grappling proved to be too much for RDA to overcome and the Russian won as a -305 favorite, while dos Anjos lost as a +275 dog. In a welterweight bout, Thiago Alves defeated Seth Baczynski via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27). Alves ate up Baczynski’s leg with brutal leg kicks over the course of three rounds to claim the decision in his return to the Octagon. He closed as a -480 favorite, while Baczynski was a +434 dog. In a lightweight bout, Jorge Masvidal defeated Pat Healy via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28). Masvidal showed excellent striking, wrestling, and cardio in the fight and definitely deserved the win. He was a -265 favorite, while Healy was a +245 dog. In a middleweight bout, Caio Magalhaes defeated Luke Zachrich via first-round TKO (knee to the body and punches). Magalhaes stormed Zachrich right out of the gate and flurried him with strikes until the referee stepped in. He closed as a -295 favorite, while Zachrich was a +265 dog. In a welterweight bout, Jordan Mein defeated Hermani Perpetuo via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28). After winning the first two rounds with his striking and wrestling, Mein survived a late scare in the third round to edge out the victory. He scored as a -420 favorite, while Perpetuo lost as a +375 dog. In a flyweight bout, Dustin Ortiz defeated Ray Borg via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28). What a competitive, fun fight between these two that was ultimately declared a win for Ortiz for his more effective striking. But Borg will be back, and he’ll be better than ever in his next matchup. Ortiz was -155, Borg was +145. In a featherweight bout, Mirsad Bektic defeated Chas Skelly via majority decision (29-27, 29-27, 28-28). This was an extremely close fight marred by an illegal knee in round two that went down to the wire, but Bektic was able to pull it out and win in his UFC debut. He was a -140 favorite, while Skelly was a +130 dog. In a heavyweight bout, Derrick Lewis defeated Jack May via first-round TKO (punches). The two heavyweights engaged in a competitive grappling match for the first few minutes until Lewis was able to get a dominant positions and rain down heavy strikes until the ref stepped in. Lewis was a -290 favorite, while May was a +260 dog.
