MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 113 light heavyweight Emanuel Newton as he prepares for his title unification bout on Friday night (March 21, 2014) against champion Attila Vegh at the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas.
The current Bellator interim light heavyweight champion faced Vegh in the finals of his first 205 pound tournament, and walked away with a controversial decision loss. He knows he should have won that fight and says the Vegh believes it too:
“He’s tough and I know he’s gonna come in knowing he does have a win over me and I’m sure that’s going to be sticking in his head. But even after our last fight, he doesn’t speak much English, but he came up to me after and was like, *Sigh* he put his hand on my shoulder, sighed, and it was as if he’d said, “You won that fight.” He knew it. That’s just the way it happened. It’s not gonna be the same thing. Completely, it’s like night and day I’m a different fighter than last time.”
