Your Best Bets for UFC 171’s ‘Fight of the Night’

Hendricks LawlerUFC 171 will be live from the American Airlines Center in Dallax, TX with 13 scheduled bouts, including a five card main card that is sure to produce fireworks. After the fights have concluded, the UFC will be awarding a $50,000 ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus for the most exciting bout of the evening. To place a wager on this prop, or any others for UFC 171, you may do so at Several Bookmakerss. I believe the top condenders for this prize are: Hendricks/Lawler +325 — As long as there isn’t a quick knockout, I have no doubt this will be an exciting main event. It is possible that Hendricks will try to use his wrestling to win this fight, thus not making it very exciting. However, I think he will play it on the feet enough that we see enough exchanges that keep us on the edge of our seats. These are two very heavy hitters at 170 pounds, and either of them have the power and ability to end this fight at any given time. Should they take home the bonus, it would be the third time for Hendricks, while it would be the first for Lawler. Gastelum/Story +820 — This is a very exciting welterweight match-up which Gastelum asked for. He got his wish, and I expect this to be a very fun fight with both men moving forward and throwing bombs. For however long this scrap lasts, be it two minutes or all 15, I expect it to be one hell of a fight. A win here will put either welterweight in the mix of things; they would very likely be two more wins away from being considered for a legitimate title shot. Winning the award would be the first time for Gastelum, but the second for Story. Scoggins/Campuzano +1500 — Without a doubt, this flyweight scrap will produce fireworks, for however long it lasts. I could see it ending early or going all three rounds, and one thing is for sure, this will be a fun fight to watch. This is the one fight on the entire card I would be most shocked if it turned out anything short of exciting. Everybody knows Dana White loves giving flyweights their bonus, so if the main card does not prove to be as exciting as expected, this play is certainly worth a stab at +1500. This will be the second Octagon appearance for Scoggins, so it would mean the first ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus for the Georgian, should they take home the bonus. It would also be the first for Campuzano in the UFC, though he did take home the bonus while performing in WEC, under the Zuffa banner.
