UFC Fight Night 38’s Dan Henderson: ‘I plan on finishing my six-fight contract’

MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 38 light heavyweight Dan Henderson as he prepares for his main event bout on Sunday night (March 23, 2014) against former UFC champion  Mauricio Rua at the Ginásio Nélio Dias in Natal, Brazil.

The former Pride and Strikeforce light heavyweight champion faced defeated Rua in his 2011 UFC return in one of the greatest bouts in MMA history and while he’s currently on a slump at 43 years old, he’s not planning on hanging up the gloves any time soon:

“I signed a six-fight deal and I plan on fighting six fights. Obviously, it wouldn’t be good to lose, but I’m not gonna retire any time soon. I just need to make sure that doesn’t happen in this fight. I did take a pay cut. Either way, it sucks to take a pay cut, but I don’t what would have happened if I’d been coming off of three wins. I don’t know if I would have got a pay bump. The options are there to get back to where I was. I have six fights to get my goals accomplished and then we’re done.”
