MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 112 welterweight Jesse Juarez as he prepares for his tournament quarterfinal bout on Friday night (March 14, 2014) against Adam McDonough at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana.
The talented former top prospect has some of the best wrestling in Bellator’s welterweight division and he’s not going to go away from it in an attempt to be more exciting:
“To me, it’s like, why would you ever go away from what you’re good at? If you’re rocked, you’re gonna go back to your wrestling. Set up all your takedowns with punches, set up all your takedowns with kicks. Wrestlers these days are like, ‘I’ve got to be exciting. I’ve got to go out there and knock him out.’ Screw that! If I can go out there and knock him out, I would love to. But in the end, I’m trying to take him down, smother him, submit him, make him want to give up.”
